Apparently AI/agentic commerce drove $3B in online sales over Black Friday per this report being shared around by retail executives today.

The underlying Salesforce data doesn't seem to support this, however. From my POV, there's absolutely no way AI drove $3B of $11.8B total ecommerce sales for Black Friday based on current AI usage. Am I misinterpreting this data?

Not the title (Winners and losers of Black Friday 2025) nor the correct number ($11.8B - reuters https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46103463, techcrunch https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46093535). Salesforce guessed $3B of US sales were AI driven (that's not the world total, nor the AI total.. since Adobe has different numbers).
