1. Core Idea
Three base relations:
1. Matter = fixed information M = I_fixed
2. Consciousness = rate of informational change C ∝ dI/dT
3. Reality = interaction of stable and flowing information R = f(I_fixed, dI/dT)
This connects to Landauer’s limit, free-energy principle, Bekenstein bounds, and integrated-information concepts, but treats information itself as the fundamental physical substrate.
2. Time as informational process
In ICT, time is:
> “The transition of potential information into structured experience.”
This links phenomenological time, physical time, and informational/computational time. Consciousness “shapes” this transition → generating an effective local arrow of time.
3. Experimental roadmap (falsifiable)
1. C ∝ dI/dT — Neuroenergetic test of consciousness speed Multilevel oddball / sequence-learning tasks with controlled entropy and update rate. EEG/MEG + metabolic markers test whether higher dI/dT increases energetic cost and large-scale neural integration.
2. R = f(I) — “Structure without energy” Equal energy input, but different informational structure (compressible vs pseudorandom) in sensory/light patterns. If informational form matters, outcomes (neural/behavioral/physico-chemical) should differ despite equal power.
3. M = I_fixed — Energetic price of information fixation Write/erase cycles across substrates (DRAM/Flash, memristors/PCM, spintronic media, possibly neural cultures) to estimate energy-per-bit thresholds at which information becomes “stable,” probing matter-as-stabilized-information.
4. Independent feedback
A researcher specializing in information physics & the nature of time (background: MSU’s “Institute for Time Nature Explorations,” EE, systemic research) reviewed ICT on Academia.edu.
Key excerpts:
“The author proposes a highly interesting approach to the relationship between matter, consciousness and information, incorporating the complex concept of time.”
“‘Matter as fixed information’ opens a path toward an information physics of consciousness.”
“The experimental framework is clear and promising.”

5. Why I’m posting on Hacker News
ICT sits at the intersection of physics, computation, philosophy of mind, information theory, and AGI. I’m looking for technical critique.
