NerdSearch: A Search Engine for Gamers and Game Devs (Powered by Cheat Codes)

Hey HN, I'm excited to share NerdSearch—a search engine I built that's specifically geared toward gamers and game designers.

After getting frustrated with general search results when looking up documentation for Godot, Unity, or a quick cheat code, I decided to build my own. Our goal is to surface the most relevant power-ups, cheat codes, epic loot, and dev docs quickly.

Core Features & Why We Built It: For the Game Dev: We are tuning our results to prioritize documentation, tutorials, and community discussions relevant to game development engines (like Godot, which is already a top search term on our platform!)

For the Gamer: Get quick access to cheat codes, walkthroughs, and news from gaming sites.

Transparency: We keep our stats public! You can literally see what people are searching for (yes, including the weird stuff).

Safety: We've recently enabled Safe Search, so you can filter out adult content if you want to keep your search squeaky clean.

The Fun Part (Try This!): Since the name is NerdSearch, we had to include an Easter egg. If you type the Konami Code (↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A) anywhere on the page, the site glitches out into a neon-drenched "nerd haven" mode, complete with a celebratory achievement!

We're in the early stages and actively crawling and tuning our results. We'd love to hear your feedback on the user experience and, more importantly, the relevance of the search results for your gaming and development queries.

What do you think? Try searching for your favorite cheat code or a Godot tutorial and let us know!
