Received a few minutes ago by e-mail:

We’re notifying our customers about the mandatory disclosure of certain information to comply with a formal Request for Information from the European Commission.

Hello Google Cloud customer,

On November 18, 2025 the European Commission (EC) launched three market investigations under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), focusing on Microsoft Azure, AWS, and whether there exist practices that limit competitiveness and fairness in the cloud computing sector in the EU (the Investigations).

In connection with these Investigations, the EC issued a Request for Information (RFI) legally requiring Google to provide certain information regarding our Google Cloud customers:

The EC has informed us that it intends to contact some of our customers to find out more about how such customers choose, buy and use cloud services. To this end, the EC has requested that we provide them with contact details for contacts at certain of our EU customers (comprising the organisation’s name, country code, contact person name, email address and customer’s sector(s) of activity).

The EC also requested that we provide, for each of the relevant customers, their total GCP spend during the most recent financial year (or, in some cases, the last six months).

What you need to know To comply with the EC’s requests, we will be providing the following information: (i) the contact details noted above, and (ii) the spend data noted above

No action is required from you.

We will request that the EC treats all commercially sensitive and confidential information as confidential under the EC’s policies and applicable EU laws, including that the information provided should not be disclosed to any third parties. In addition, to minimise any risk of your revenue data being identifiable, we will provide only your Customer ID and revenue in one file, and your Customer ID and the other details requested by the EC in a separate file.

Note: This communication constitutes notice in relation to the present RFI as well as all subsequent requests the EC may issue in connection with the Investigations.
