One of my hiking buddies is a recently retired cardiologist. He is totally open to the idea that reduced heart disease over the past few decades may just have likely been caused by better dental care as by statin therapies. His attitude is that you need huge clinical studies to get any good conclusive evidence one way another. Good to see this!
