Most vocabulary apps are overloaded, gamified, or locked behind subscriptions. Kiwi Notes is intentionally minimal:
– Add your own words and phrases – Hear natural pronunciation instantly – Train with multiple quizzes (typing, flashcards, matching…) – Track difficult words automatically – Import vocabulary lists (CSV/TSV/Excel)
It’s available on iOS and works offline for most features. I would love feedback from the HN community — especially ideas on UI, onboarding, spaced repetition tuning, or anything you think would make it a better tool for language learners.

If anyone’s interested in the stack: • Frontend: SwiftUI • Audio: internal cache layer + fallback TTS • Spaced repetition: hybrid SM2-like intervals • Import engine: CSV/TSV auto-detection • Offline mode: local fallback for review & audio playback
If you’re into language learning tools, I’d really appreciate your thoughts on: 1. How to improve onboarding 2. Whether spaced repetition feels too aggressive or too light 3. Ideas for making the audio features smarter
Thanks again for checking it out!
