At first the analogy struck me as odd. But capitalism's loathing an important member of its integral self and actively harming the removed member, the other members, and the integral body on account of that loathing is apt.

The replaced arm has to graft itself or bootstrap all the things the body already had. It seems insurmountable, but the same thinking that brought this cybernetic substitution seems missing.
