We are building EZTest, an open-source test management tool designed to replace legacy tools like TestRail.
The Problem: There’s basically no modern open source test management tool out there. The ones everyone uses like Testiny orTestRail are glorified Excel sheets with a hefty subscription fee. They charge $20 per user per month but barely do anything worthwhile. At this point, the best LLMs cost the same, so the pricing makes no sense.
Ah ha moment was when we realised we could either pay $20 to Claude & Copilot and have a working MVP in a month or pay $19 to Testiny per user per month forever.
The Solution: EZTest. A modern open source test management tool build with Claude Code and Copilot. It’s a simple, lightweight test and defect management tool you can self host and actually rely on. Nothing fancy. Just the basics done right.
We are currently in Alpha and I am looking for brutal feedback on the product, features and the UX. We are building this out of Chennai with the goal of creating truly sustainable FOSS business projects.

I’ll be in the comments to answer questions about the stack and roadmap.
