We get told to save energy and "cut Carbon" at every turn. We are ripped off for even trying to heat our homes.

And yet the ruling class, at the same time, is building stuff like this which gobbles up electricity. These data centres remind me of the massive computers of decades past.

There is a massive contradiction here. Either we cut energy usage and use a hybridised system where many records etc are kept physically... Or we embrace this Fourth Industrial Revolution rhetoric and use as much electricity as we can.
