I’d love to get some feedback on an app I’ve been working on called Snapalabra.
The idea is simple: each day you get a new image, and you describe what you see in your target language. That’s it — a small, focused daily expression exercise.
To help, the app provides image-mapped clues, and there’s an optional LLM feedback feature (I know that’s not for everyone) that can suggest ways to expand on what you've written or spoken.
It’s not a course and doesn’t try to be one. It’s just a dedicated space to practice expressing yourself alongside whatever other language learning you're already doing — Spanish, German, Basque, French, Irish, or anything else.
I built it because I felt a big gap between what I could understand and what I could express. Even as my comprehension improved, I’d still freeze when trying to form sentences. Forcing myself to produce a few sentences every day helped “rewire” my brain and make sentence structure and vocabulary easier to recall.
So far I’ve really enjoyed both using and building it, and I’m excited to keep refining the concept.
