Hard to correlate this to any real world events when the X axis is in days since epoch, rather than a human intelligible format.

Hopefully someone else can use the CSV to make a graph that isn't terrible

What's the bump in 2017? Did a iOS update start auto-correcting a bare "-" to "—" or something?
lcnPylGDnU4H9OF•1d ago
iOS currently converts "--" to "—". No clue when that started, though.
jonatron•1d ago
Looks like it auto-corrects -- to — https://glog.glennf.com/blog/2017/7/6/dash-dash-it-all from iOS 11

Which dash is the following: — ? N or M?
quuxplusone•1d ago
— is U+2014 EM DASH. (Source: copy-paste into https://apps.timwhitlock.info/unicode/inspect?s=%E2%80%94 ) An en dash is shorter: –.
p0w3n3d•1d ago
Meanwhile people who write m-dash because they like good typography...

But TBH m-dash is inaccessible enough to prevent people doing so, at least on forums

tomjakubowski•21h ago
It's long been easy to type one on a Mac— option+shift+hyphen. The shortcut is mnemonic, even.
DANmode•20h ago
Guiltily swapped back to small hyphens recently,

so as not to arouse suspicion that my very-human texts and emails are AI generated.

Minor sadness.
