Show HN: TrackSplit – Remove vocals and instruments from any song, offline

https://tracksplit.co/
1•jomargon•18m ago
I built TrackSplit because I wanted to practice drums along to my favorite songs without the original drum track getting in the way.

Existing solutions like LALAL.AI and Moises require uploading your audio to their servers. I wanted something that runs locally, both for privacy and because I didn't want another subscription.

TrackSplit separates any song into 6 stems: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and other. It runs entirely on your Mac with no internet required.

Technical details: - Built with Swift/SwiftUI with an embedded Python backend - Uses HTDemucs v4 (Hybrid Transformer Demucs) for separation - GPU-accelerated on Apple Silicon via Metal/MPS - Processes most 4-minute songs in ~90 seconds on M1

Use cases: - Musicians practicing along to songs (remove your instrument) - Creating karaoke tracks - DJs extracting acapellas - Remixing and sampling

Available on the Mac App Store for $19.99 (one-time, no subscription).
