Elon Musk Is Wrong About Basic Income and Crime: Here Is the Evidence He Ignored

At this point, it is easier to assume whatever Elon Musk says is false.

Hyperloop failed. We are bot colonising Mars for at least several dozen more generations (and maybe never). Europe is not weak, it is strong (that is why he hates Europe), we will likely never reach AGI with LLM-based technology, space datacenters will never happen, he did not found Tesla, he bought it, he continuously promised FSD, and it has not happened. I mean, when has Elon Musk been right about anything?

dangus•1mo ago
It would be much better to discuss this topic without shining a light on Elon Musk. He's an irrelevant loser, we don't have to listen to him or his opinions.

The opinions of someone who will become the first trillionaire are relevant. I would controversially say that someone who has hoarded that much wealth should be declared non-human and lose all human rights and legal protections.

The rest of the discussion was valuable, but merely keeping his name in our mouths is exactly what he wants.

chistev•1mo ago
What did he do to you?
dangus•1mo ago
Actually, kind of a lot, thanks for asking.

He actively prevented Californians and Nevadans from getting realistic transit solutions by enticing government officials away from conventional rail and bus rapid transit solutions with unrealistic projects like Hyperloop and Boring Company, sending those citizens right back to the most expensive possible transit solution of buying his personal automobiles.

He fired thousands of federal workers through DOGE, taking salaries out of the economy that might have been spent on my business and directly endangering my safety by firing people inside the Federal Aviation Administration.

It's probable that his employees stole my personal data from the federal government (DOGE).

He is an illegal immigrant to the USA, since he worked on a student visa illegally, and therefore took resources that could have otherwise been allocated to US Citizens including myself.

He made the Nazi salute on national television twice, which was an active endorsement of violence against my ethnicity.

As a frequent walker and pedestrian, his Cybertruck is a massive and direct physical danger to me and more likely to kill me than other vehicles on the road. It is not legal to own in most/all countries outside the US as it does not meet pedestrian impact safety standards. Also, by all accounts the physical design was personally conceived and overseen by him.

His political views that parrot and support Russian talking points are a direct threat to the physical safety of people that matter to me in my life.

rsynnott•1mo ago
The trouble is that he's very good at spreading bullshit broadly. Millions of people have now seen the original nonsense twitter post.
dangus•1mo ago
I think the reach of the nonsense twitter posts are much less pronounced if he was ignored by detractors. But I acknowledge that this is a double-edged sword because a lack of public criticism can mean a lack of awareness of bad people, less people trying to hold them accountable.
