this post is quite detailed and accurate, but also very sanctimonious and oblivious that what people consider a decent life has vastly degraded in perception, mostly because the goal posts are not matching reality.and it is easy to take absolutes and compare them, it doesn't mean they match societal expectations. 100 year ago eating foods that would be considered mostly inedible/unacceptable today was the norm. there is a very difficult exercise there in understanding perception vs pure numbers.
