Show HN: Recession.fyi A simple dashboard of recession indicators no predictions

2•guyl•1h ago
I built a small tool to track core recession indicators in one place: https://recession.fyi/

The motivation was simple: economic headlines often feel emotional or contradictory, and I wanted a quiet page that lets me look at the underlying signals directly things like employment, manufacturing, consumer sentiment, and credit conditions without commentary.

This doesn’t predict recessions or make claims about the future. It just aggregates the data, updates automatically, and tries to present it as plainly as possible.

I’m mainly interested in whether the indicator selection makes sense, whether anything important is missing, and whether the layout feels clear or confusing at a glance. This is a first version, so blunt feedback is welcome.

Very cool. It looks vibecoded. Is it? Not to criticise you, but to learn how you built this. Is it open source?

Thanks. Parts of it were built quickly, but the goal wasn’t novelty so much as pulling a few indicators together cleanly and keeping the presentation simple.

It’s not open source at the moment, but I’m happy to share more about the data sources and overall approach if that’s useful.
