Are we going to see a spike in offshore hiring in 2026?
abhiyerra•1mo ago
I have a lot of contacts in Hyderabad, India and it doesn’t seem like any of them are really worried about their jobs. Haven’t heard of any layoffs there. With additional GCCs being built out I do think there will be more offshoring.

I would suggest editing the title to include “without a valid H-1B visa stamp”

> we strongly recommend that employees without a valid H-1B visa stamp avoid international travel for now,” the Fragomen memo reportedly said.

This isn’t really a change from previous years (this is different from September when companies were having their employees emergency-fly back to the US as they didn’t know if even valid H-1B visa holders would be let back in).

PeterHolzwarth•1mo ago
... due to longer processing times, which makes the title a lot more mild sounding had they included it.

The actual details are that the U.S. government canceled visa interview appointments for months, literally days before people were supposed to show up for them, and now are unable to travel back to the U.S. for at least 3-4 months, with some appointments being pushed to as late as 2027.

It’s a complete farces and shows the current administration to both be evil and incompetent. All they’ve achieved here is people getting paid American dollars, but nonetheless working in India, so they spend and pay taxes on those American dollars in India as opposed to the U.S.

Its clownish to say the least.

Entering the country under these conditions has always (since early 2010s anyways) been iffy.
