ARK's Aggressive Pivot: Wood Doubles Down on Tesla and Re-Enters Big Tech AI

Cathie Wood and ARK Invest are back on the offensive. The latest portfolio data reveals a decisive strategy: a massive recommitment to the "Magnificent Seven" AI leaders and a series of surprising new entries in fintech and crypto infrastructure.

Cathie Wood stocks bought: The AI Supercycle Bet

The most striking trend in the latest filings is the sheer volume of Cathie Wood stocks bought within the semiconductor and autonomous driving sectors. Despite already being her largest holding, Wood increased her position in Tesla (TSLA) by a staggering 16.64%, adding over 512,000 shares. Tesla now commands 9.5% of the entire portfolio, signaling her unwavering belief in the robotaxi thesis.

But the buying didn't stop there. After previously trimming chip stocks, ARK is aggressively re-loading on hardware. The fund increased its stake in NVIDIA (NVDA) by 15.06% and AMD by 12.92%. Even Amazon (AMZN) saw a healthy boost of 6.85%. This coordinated buying spree suggests Wood believes the AI hardware rally has a "second leg" that investors cannot afford to miss.

Shocking New Entries: Klarna, Alibaba, and Crypto Mining

Beyond the big names, the "New Buy" column offers some fascinating insights into ARK’s future roadmap. Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR): In a bold move into crypto infrastructure, ARK opened a massive new position here, instantly making it 2.31% of the portfolio.

The Return to China: Perhaps the most surprising addition is Alibaba (BABA). After largely exiting Chinese equities years ago, Wood has initiated a fresh buy, suggesting she sees deep value in the battered tech giant. Fintech IPO Plays: The fund also acquired a stake in Klarna Group (KLAR), likely positioning for the anticipated IPO of the "Buy Now, Pay Later" giant.

The Verdict: Cathie Wood is pivoting from defensive positioning back to high-beta aggression. By loading up on Tesla, Nvidia, and speculative crypto miners, she is positioning ARK for a potential liquidity-fueled breakout in 2025.
