Imran Ahmed, the founder and chief executive of a nonprofit
    organization that works to stop the spread of online hate and
    disinformation, was among five Europeans barred by the
    State Department from the United States on Tuesday.

    The State Department said in a separate announcement that it had 
    “taken steps to impose visa restrictions”

The US State Dept describes disinformation research this way:

    “organized efforts to coerce American platforms to censor,
    demonetize, and suppress American viewpoints they oppose.”
