Show HN: Talent Scout – job matching and prep with an independent AI assessor

1•stephen-m-lee•1mo ago
Hi HN — we’re opening Talent Scout to a wider beta and inviting the first 50 people to request access via our site.

Talent Scout is built around the idea that resumes are an outdated medium for job search - it's easier to compress/summarize a detailed career history for a specific job than it is to try and decompress/extrapolate from a streamlined resume. Essentially, the job market today is a DDOS attack on HR departments, where spam applications prevent the candidates they actually want from being seen or reviewed. LLMs excel at summarization and translation tasks, so we sit as a platform between candidates and hiring managers to summarize your career history and translate that into the language of a specific hiring manager or recruiter.

What you can do in the beta:

- Interview prep with Athena (AI). Talk through your real work experiences the way you would with a trusted colleague over coffee or a beer. Athena asks follow-ups, probes for missing details, and pressure-tests claims the same way an interviewer or recruiter would.

- Receive feedback from a recruiter's perspective. See what a recruiter would likely infer from your background, what feels unsubstantiated, and what raises questions or skepticism before you ever apply.

- JD-aware resume builder. Paste in a job description and generate an ATS-compatible resume that emphasizes only strengths you actually demonstrate. No embellishment, no invented experience, just clearer framing and specific-to-general keyword optimization (e.g. you mention Airflow, but they JD is looking for someone with ETL experience).

- Beta candidates will also get early access to our pilot job-matching program with the hiring managers we’re currently onboarding. Join a small pool of candidates to be considered by hiring managers from both startups and fortune 50 companies.

This is early and we’re deliberately keeping the cohort small so we can iterate quickly based on your feedback. If this sounds useful, request access here via our waitlist (limited to the first 50 or so):

Happy to answer questions.
