Ask HN: How the f$ do I get rich in 2026?

6•roschdal•1mo ago

Comments

chistev•1mo ago
There is no secret.

You either need to have a very valuable skill that people are willing to pay you for, or you start a business selling a product or offering a service (basically having a valuable skill) that people are willing to pay you for.

Or you get lucky like if you had bought Bitcoin back when it was worth a negligible amount and then you check back years later (2026) to find out that forgotten investment is now worth a lot of money. But that's likely not going to be the case for you.

I also wish there was a secret I could learn about to make me rich next year, because I'm not rich.

bell-cot•1mo ago
If only there was some simple, deterministic (vs. "get really lucky"), and truthful answer to that question...

Though it might be useful to define your "rich". Are you just hoping for reliable food, clothing, housing, and medical care? Or yearning for a yacht bigger than Larry Ellison's? No matter what you do, the odds against the latter are astronomically long.

fuzzfactor•1mo ago
A number of people will certainly be getting richer, if not rich for the first time in 2026.

Starting tomorrow.

I imagine some of them are reading this, and would give some very realistic advice.

What's needed is more context.

How did you get so poor, and can that be overcome to begin with?

FrankWilhoit•1mo ago
By stealing, same as always.

Don't forget lying!

Have you tried marrying well?
roscas•1mo ago
One option, if your parents are not already very rich.
roscas•1mo ago
Once you get your parents money, build something, no matter what, but what creates job's and wait until the money runs out, because you really have no idea how to make more money.

Then, since you're already having people depending on you, company stocks holders have to put more money or loose it all or just wait for the government to save you.

Someone will give you more money or you will go to jail.

It's always the same process.

pickleglitch•1mo ago
Your best bet is probably to do some kind of massive fraud scheme, and using a sizeable chunk of that to buy Trump coin, so that you can get a pardon when things go sideways.
