This reminds me of a post where a guy accidentally backed over his Nokia phone, crushing it. The screen actually cracked, and gave his car a flat tire. He then used the phone to call AAA for help with the flat!

> Apple uses aluminum alloy for the unibody chassis of its MacBook line-up due to its strength and durability while still being lightweight. Aside from that, it also doubles as a heatsink, which is especially crucial for the fanless MacBook Air models. But even though Cupertino chose this material for its scratch and dent resistance, it seemed that it was also good enough to stop shrapnel. Unfortunately, [the owner] also decried the cost of repair in the comments, saying that “the repair will cost as much as a new laptop.”

Meh. An armored MacBook would probably cost you 10X or more up front. Vs. if you're in a real war zone - just field salvage some armor to add to your expensive kit.
