Comcast seems to think their can fix their image with new names instead of actually earning a good reputation.

I was taken aback by the cookie preferences opt-out on Rotten Tomatoes - there is a marketing opt out button but then some text explains that to really opt out you also have to fill out a form on some other page, with your email address, etc.
al_borland•1mo ago
I always question those forms. If I’m giving my information to opt out, did they already have it, or am I willingly giving them information that will later be used to spam me in some way?

My cynicism with this stuff is at an all time high. I had to give my phone number and email address to make a restaurant reservation online last week, I just about lost it. We didn’t even need one, but my dad was freaking out about it. I’m much rather wait 5 minutes than give up my personal info for something so silly. I tagged the email I gave with the restaurant name, so I can kill it if they’re scumbags.
