I got tired of updating my codebase every time I wanted to share a new preview of my product. You know the drill - change the OG image, commit, deploy, wait... it was killing my momentum.
So I built RenderOG. Here's what it does:
*Visual editor for OG images* - Design templates once, then generate variations automatically. No code required.
*Link shortening with A/B testing* - Create shortened links (like rnder.me/product-launch) where each link can have a different OG image. Test multiple visuals by sharing different links, check analytics to see which one performs better, then stick with the winner. No code changes needed.
*Project slugs* - Use human-readable URLs (like og.yourdomain.com/my-project) instead of random IDs. Your URLs stay the same even if you delete and recreate a project.
Now, I can test different product previews via shortened URLs before deciding which one to commit to. No more updating code, deploying, and hoping it works. Just create a link, share it, check analytics, and decide.
I've been using it for product launches and it's saved me hours. Marketing can now test different visuals without bugging engineering.
It's currently in private beta. I'm letting a small group of founders in to test it. If you want early access, join the waitlist: https://renderog.com
What's your current process for testing different OG images? Still updating code or have you found a better way?
