Show HN: I built a *fully free* AI resume maker

https://www.resume-razor.com/
2•rbitsoft•1mo ago
Hi HN, I’m launching my first end-to-end web project, Resume Razor, this week.

The most time-consuming and frustrating part of the job search is that you have to edit and target your resume for every single application. You need to highlight the right skills and show your experience from the specific perspective that a potential employer is looking for.

Doing this manually slows applicants down. I believe that optimizing this process isn't "cheating", it's just efficiency. As long as the resume is honest to your actual knowledge and experience, using AI is simply a matter of reducing friction and saving time.

I noticed something with existing AI resume generators: even when they claim to be free, they usually aren't. They are either severely limited, hide downloads behind paywalls, or ask for a credit card shortly after onboarding.

My challenge was to build an app that solves both the time drain and the cost barrier.

Smart Tailoring: I built a product that understands your full history (work, education, skills) and tailors it to specific job descriptions in seconds.

To make this 100% free and purely ad-supported while ensuring high quality outputs, I had to get creative. I optimized everything from how our AI backend works to how we generate the resume PDFs.

The result is a clutter-free, straightforward platform where you can generate tailored resumes without paying a cent. We also keep ads to a minimum to ensure a great user experience.

We currently only support English and don't provide cover letter creation, but those are in our roadmap for the future.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
