What managing 300+ Windows laptops really taught me

I’ve helped manage 300+ Windows 10/11 laptops in a small, growing company. Onboarding was the first big pain: each device took hours of manual setup (apps, Azure AD, VPN, security), and any missed step created future tickets. Standardizing a Windows device management baseline and a small approved software catalog changed that. Centralized Windows update management removed random reboots and inconsistent patching. Now I work on Scalefusion MDM, an MDM/UEM platform, and the same lesson holds: treat endpoint management and mobile device management for Windows as core infrastructure, not an afterthought.
