Show HN: Get sentiment/gist of stock/crypto news in seconds with only a number!

https://sentientmerchant.com/
2•MattELab•1mo ago
Hello hackers! I'm MattELab and I've built [SentientMerchant.com](http://sentientmerchant.com/) - Stock Market & Crypto News Sentiment

As someone who owns multiple stocks, and perhaps you may hold or be interested in at least 1 stock and/or crypto, it was pretty overwhelming for me to keep up with the bombardment of news released 24/7 related to stocks and crypto that I hold as life gets pretty busy sometimes (e.g., academics, work). Hence, so often, I became unfazed and immune to reading stock/crypto news, which negatively impacted how I made investment decisions as they were often done uninformed...

I built [sentientmerchant.com](http://sentientmerchant.com) with the goal of freeing up time and making more informed investment decisions. Hence, instead of spending long hours burying myself in countless news articles related to stocks and crypto that I hold, or being unfazed as result of feeling overwhelmed from constant information flow, building sentientmerchant allowed me to get the gist and sentiment of my favorite stock and crypto from with just a single number (on a scale of 0 to 100) in a matter of seconds, which would tell me whether the overall sentiment of my stock/crypto is positive, neutral, or negative.

Additionally as someone who may react more strongly to negative news related to my favorite stock/crypto, bias would be introduced. Hence, SentientMerchant helps me make objective financial decisions, through labelling individual sentiment of each piece of news before calculating the overall/average sentiment (again from a scale of 0 to 100) of my favorite stock and/or crypto.

As of now, I have yet to monetise this website, so all features are currently free-to-use! Hope you enjoy!
