I’m researching how early-stage startups and tech teams handle IP risk when they choose not to file patents.

In particular: - Have you ever built something first, but worried someone else might patent it? - Did cost, speed, or uncertainty keep you from filing? - Have you used (or considered) defensive disclosures or prior art strategies?
