Years ago there was a small Flash toy I really loved — a simple “square face” avatar generator made by a Japanese artist. You could mix eyes, hair, and expressions and quickly make a cute square profile icon. It was everywhere on forums and blogs back in the day. Someone complains the old SWF doesn't work on her device,so I decide to rebuild it. That’s why I made SquareFace.art — a browser-based square face generator inspired by the original Flash version. No plugins, no installs, just open the page and start customizing.

The goal wasn’t to modernize it too much, but to keep the same playful, lightweight feeling:

It’s mostly a nostalgia project, but also a small attempt to preserve a bit of early web creativity that used to be very common and now feels rare.
