Is open sourcing the algorithm enough? Like doesn’t the actual data matter? What if they are influencing the conversation and some other way that we cannot easily detect? I personally do not believe that Twitter is operated in a neutral way. There’s just way too much application of extremist far right / supremacist content. And we also saw they changed the emoticon for Iran has a way to amplify the protests. How could they be trusted to be transparent?
