Ask HN: Has macOS Tahoe been fixed enough to update to?

4•ls612•3h ago
When it was first released in September the consensus was that it was one of the least stable MacOS versions in recent memory and so I have stuck on MacOS 15 so far. I'm curious if this has been improved enough with 26.2 to be worth updating to? Or should I hold off for 26.4 when the major Siri overhaul comes?

I upgraded the day it was released. I’ve never had any stability issues. Most of the reports I saw were people complaining about the UI changes. I’m always one to just rip the band-aid off and get used to it. The sooner I upgrade, the sooner it becomes the new normal.

Is external monitor support still broken for the most part? Mine stopped working on some pre-Tahoe update, and still out of luck with Tahoe. Frustrating and annoying, and all the common workarounds (and different cables/monitors etc) found on Reddit don't work for me.

I wouldn't upgrade until Liquid Glass is fully rolled back

I’ll be honest I kinda like it on iOS is it that much worse on MacOS?

Upgrade regret here. What used to be solid performance is now random hangs and unresponsiveness. Most things work but it’s Apples least polished OS in many years.
