That's a weak reply as what consequences would be suffered when users upload illegal content and have these latest users faced those consequences? I don't ever visit X/Twitter, so I can't speak as to whether infringing content has been removed or not.
Musk trying to blame this on censorship is laughable - if anything people are using deep-fakes to stifle opposing views by trying to hurt the people posting them.
