Show HN: The Kitchen Table – a quiet space to unload your thoughts

https://thekitchentable.site/
1•gossa•3w ago
I built The Kitchen Table because I kept trying to journal and always quitting. Writing started to feel like a task with expectations, and when I stopped, I felt worse about stopping. What I actually wanted wasn’t "self-improvement" or structure. I just wanted a place to put thoughts down without feeling like I was doing it wrong.

The idea comes from a simple memory, coming home, dropping my bag, and talking at the kitchen table. No fixing, no goals, just being able to say things out loud and feel listened to. I tried to recreate that feeling digitally.

The app lets you sit down, pick how you’re feeling, and respond to gentle prompts. You can save moments you want to keep and look back on them later. Everything is private and encrypted. There are no streaks, reminders, feeds or social features.

This is still early and mostly a learning project for me. I’d really appreciate feedback on the experience, what feels off, and what feels unnecessary.
