Wow! That was cool to play with.

1. How does one erase the drawings made with the pencil tool? 2. How'd you make this? Is this FOSS?

schappim•3w ago
1. It just removes the char

2. CC + minor tweaks by hand.

3. Yup, go nuts, view source and pull it apart.

Claude code seems to have gotten the backslashes in your circles mixed up. They look more round when \ is / and vice versa.
ynac•3w ago
Very Monodraw-like, but web-based. Same UI makes it an easy road replacement. I'll put it on my start page for when I'm not on my own machine.
schappim•3w ago
100% inspired by Monodraw.

Similar-ish:

Show HN: ASCII based Figma like editor

Both strong efforts.

schappim•3w ago
This is better than what I've thrown together, 100% recommend, would have used it if I'd known about it!
greggman65•3w ago
I've never made one of these so I have no idea what all the issues are but I feel like I want it to act like presentation software. I want to be able to connect boxes with lines/arrows, then drag the boxes and have the lines stay connected to the boxes. I probably also want group things like I can in most structured drawing programs. Maybe that doesn't work well with ASCII

Like a simple example, I expect if have a object selected and press Cmd/Ctrl-C, Cmd/Ctrl-V I get a duplicate.

These interactions seem like basic table stakes
