Tell HN: Email from Anthropic "Share your feedback on your experience"

1•selectnull•1h ago
I just received an email from Anthropic that begins with " We're reaching out to people who recently canceled their Claude Code subscription in order to better understand your experience and what led to your decision."

I was very glad to be able to give the feedback which can be summarized as "no opencode, no subscription".

I fully support the Anthropic decision to run their business the way they choose to and at the same time I reserve the right to use the software that I'm comfortable with.

Anthropic doesn’t allow using the Claude Code dedicated token as a workaround for their API billing process. It wasn’t targeted at OpenCode, it’s just an obvious policy. This was never supported or advertised, so there’s no bait and switch going on.

If you want an API token for use with your tools or use cases they have an option for that.

None of this is new or surprising.
