Show HN: Speakhelp.org – An AAC tool for those with speech difficulties

https://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=speakhelp.com
1•JJarrard•1h ago
TLDR backstory: Both my late grandfathers had strokes and lived a significant portion of their lives without advanced speech. I wanted to make it easy for them to communicate with their loved ones. Since they passed it’s essential become my charity project.

It’s built using Expo, TTS using expo-speech. I think it’s been feature complete for over a year, but I’ve had no engagement since I stopped using it, at least according to the traffic on the box.

You don’t need to sign up like other AACs, it doesn’t use cookies or ads, should work on most devices, and I haven’t had it audited by an AAC professional, just my grandmother’s requirements.

I appreciate any feedback, and if even one person finds it useful, I’ll be happy to have made a difference.

Thanks for your time
