We all know the friction of sending a file from phone to laptop, or to someone on a different platform: the wrong cable, slow uploads, login prompts, expired links, or apps that want you to install a whole suite. I’ve been working on a side project called QuickSend to remove that friction. It’s a lightweight tool focused purely on the “everyday transfer” — moving files, text, and links between any devices as quickly as possible, without forcing you into an ecosystem or a cloud folder hierarchy. How it’s different: Vs. Cloud Drives (Google Drive, etc.): Made for instant handoff, not storage. No upload delays or folder organization for a one-time send. Vs. Messaging Apps: Keeps transfers separate from conversations. Perfect for “send-to-self” without cluttering chats. Vs. Native Tools (AirDrop, etc.): Works cross-platform (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac) when native tools fail or aren’t available. Vs. Link Services (WeTransfer, etc.): Optimized for speed and repeated small transfers, not just large one-off sends. The goal is to make sharing as close to “send now” as possible, removing steps like hunting for cables, waiting on uploads, or digging through chat history later.
