Tenor API is shutting down

2•ankushkun_•3w ago
I have been using tenor in a handful of social apps I build, even big platforms like Twitter, Whatsapp, Discord, all use Tenor (more than Giphy) to let people share GIFs.

This morning I received a mail from tenor that they are set to sunset the Tenor API on June 30.

No new signups starting now. All APIs will stop working after June 30 :(

Google killing APIs has become so predictable there's literally a website tracking it (killedbygoogle.com).

What's wild is they give you 3 months to rip out and replace something that might be a core feature. That's not a migration timeline, that's an emergency. This is why vendor lock-in concerns aren't just paranoia anymore.

You can migrate to klipy in 10 mins https://klipy.com/migrate , we can even help you migrate your tenor acc. KLIPY is led by all ex-tenor founders/leadership, you can check our linkedin page as well.
