Maybe, just maybe, parents could use the parental controls that are widely available for free?

(comment repost) I was thinking as an alternative to this, a question of what education or orientation might be given to teens so that they might avoid some of the problems of social media that have led to people wanting to ban social media

I think frequently people are overlooking the benefits of social media - the rapid transmission of good and useful information - and are perhaps failing to frame the negatives of social media in contrast to those "goods".

It also seems like teens have been able to mostly survive social media existing, so it doesn't seem like as big of an issue as it's made out to be.
