I built a small web tool called Readspeed that lets you try RSVP-style reading (one word at a time) using your own text or PDFs.
There’s no signup and it runs entirely in the browser — minimal client-side processing, no backend required. I originally built it for myself after seeing a few viral RSVP demos and wanting to test the idea on real reading material (long documents, books, articles).
It’s intentionally early and minimalist: • Paste text, upload documents (PDF, EPUB), or read from a link • Adjust speed • Read in RSVP mode • Works offline in the browser
I’m curious to hear: • Does this actually help you read longer material faster? • Where does it break down (comprehension, regressions, fatigue)? • Do experienced readers find it useful or just a novelty?

I’ve now added:
• Live progress % while reading in RSVP mode
• Progress saved and visible in History, so you can see where you left off per document
Also worth noting: the project’s been renamed to Cadence, with a bit more emphasis on focus and continuity rather than pure speed.
New home:

I’ve seen ReadRSVP – their PDF viewer + live tracking is solid. I’m intentionally keeping Cadence very lightweight and browser-native for now, but that kind of contextual awareness is definitely the right direction.
Appreciate you taking the time to check it out.
