OK, but default ones are bad! Let me add my own custom ones, why did you add default ones??? Also, I'm a screen reader user, and what your using for accessibility appears to be subpar. Lol I'm willing to fully test it for you, but you should probably further develop that thingy!! It definitely isn't the worst one I've ever seen, but not the best either. If I can add custom ones, and I didn't find it in my testing uh... huh... lol, then that isn't exactly my fault either, could be partially that for not being a fully trained tester, though, of which I'm not. I'm not an expert. You get what you get for free, hah!!
prabalsaxena•2w ago
Thanks for the honest feedback. I really appreciate the offer to test it—I’ll absolutely take you up on that.

Re: Custom Habits They are definitely supported—there is a floating '+' button in the bottom right corner on all devices. However, the fact that you missed it means I failed on the UX. It might be a missing aria-label for your screen reader, or perhaps the button just blends in too much visually and isn't distinct enough. Either way, that is on me to fix. I'll look into both the ARIA tags and the visual contrast today.

Re: Default Habits I included those to solve the 'Cold Start' problem. Since the app relies on a specific economy (Task -> Gold -> Reward), a blank screen felt too confusing for new users—I wanted to show how earning Gold works immediately. But I agree, they should be easier to delete so they don't feel like bloat.

If you're willing to give it another shot once I patch the accessibility issues, I'd value your input. Thanks again.

I'm always up for testing! I'm willing to test anything. I'm fairly thorough, and I'll tell you what's wrong, but I'm not certified, so I'm probably not the best lol! If you make a contact email, I can give you feedback that way as well.
prabalsaxena•2w ago
Just pushed an update based on your feedback.

Fixed the 'Default Habits': You were right, deleting them one by one was annoying. I added a 'Starter Habits' toggle in Settings > Visuals. You can now hide them all in one click.

Fixed the Button: Added visible text labels and fixed the ARIA tags on the main action button. It should be much easier to locate now.

If you have a moment to test it with your screen reader, I'd love to know if it's actually usable. You can also reach me directly at hello.playlife2@gmail.com if you want to send more detailed notes. Thanks again for the push.

Sure thing! I was able to put some in there, and it worked! I use NVDA. Nothing seems to be wrong, at the moment. Hmm, can I put my monthly readin goal in there? It didn't seem to have a way to add those. I'm not a big reader, so starting small, by reading a book a month, lol! That's more of a feature type thingy.
prabalsaxena•2w ago
That is huge news! Thanks for confirming NVDA is working smoothly.

Re: The Monthly Book Goal That's a great question. The philosophy behind Life II is actually 'Systems > Goals' (similar to Atomic Habits).

The trap with a '1 Book a Month' goal is that it's just a deadline—it's easy to ignore it for 3 weeks and then try to cram it all in at the end.

I designed 'Acts' to track the daily input. Instead of tracking the book, try creating an Act called 'Read 5 Pages' or even just 'Read 10 Minutes'.

It’s low pressure.

You get a dopamine hit (and Gold!) every single day.

If you hit the daily Act, the monthly goal happens automatically.

You can still use the Quests tab (in the sidebar) to track the big finish line (e.g., 'Finish The Hobbit'), but keep your main dashboard focused on the small daily wins.

Does that flow make sense, or do you strictly prefer the monthly deadline style?

webspinner•2w ago
Well, that did work! I was able to find the create button and put one in there.
