I've had dozens of conversations selling software with the AI hype zeitgeist breathing uncomfortably down my nape as the build vs. buy vs. offshore math is front and center.

I've witnessed the shift in screen shares go from: vscode -> cursor -> claude code. I'm witnessing the conversational themes in sales, mentorship, and catchups with fellow data engineers progress from: "Do more with less" -> "Do new, valuable things". I'm mentoring someone how to use claude code with beads in their data engineering work this week to bolster that progression.

I'm seeing new titles and higher comp to match the new games we're playing.
