I’ve been writing academic papers in LaTeX for years and kept running into the same issue: as documents grow, the editor starts getting in the way.
Autocomplete lag, slow feedback, and heavy UIs often break my writing flow more than LaTeX itself.
As a side project, I built an experimental LaTeX editor focused on minimizing latency while writing. Instead of aiming for full real-time final layout, the goal is to keep the editor fast and responsive, and defer engine-specific and typographic concerns to the final compilation step.
It’s early, rough around the edges, and definitely not for everyone. I’m mainly trying to understand which trade-offs actually matter to people who write with LaTeX regularly.
I’d really appreciate feedback, especially from those who care about: - editor responsiveness vs. WYSIWYG previews - how readable the generated LaTeX source should be - where current tools slow you down most
