I work in the software industry and I've been searching the web all day every day for more than a decade.
In the last two weeks I noticed a change in the way duckduckgo and Google respond to queries: They omit primary sources more than ever before.
When I search, for example, for legal texts (a query such as "hacking laws in Germany"), or for technical topics like Makefiles, I get pages and pages of articles and no primary sources, even though I know they exist and they used to show up.
Did I miss something? What's the new meta to search for actual primary sources?
