its going to take some imagination. you need to work both ends of the stick, and do CNC mills as well, then dream up any objectionable pairing that allows you to print and cut, or cut and print, until you have a restricted item.

WA govt websites are atrociously bad (moved here recently)

This one says I have JS disabled, which is def not the case

verdverm•1h ago
Seems they want to force manufacturers to put some technology into printers such that they cannot print gun parts

Why are they all such fools...

Politician's fallacy. We must do something. This is something. We must do it.

Tis a fallacy, but nevertheless, here we are.

The submitted URL is the NoScript redirect target.

Hackaday story: https://hackaday.com/2026/01/19/washington-state-bill-seeks-...

Link to the PDF from that story: https://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/2025-26/Pdf/Bills/Ho...

bad link - (1) it's to NoScript page (2) there is no bill number in it, so it is impossible to recover

Doesn't make sense... most of the software used on 3D printers is open source.
