Show HN: AIChatLens – Save AI chats and snippets locally in the browser

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/aichatlens-ai-memory-and/edefkcahpidomhojmdacbdagmccggclb

Hi HN,

I built AIChatLens because I kept losing useful answers, ideas, and code from AI chats.

AIChatLens is a Chrome extension + simple web viewer. It works by letting you save full AI chats or highlight specific parts (snippets) directly inside ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot, and then find them later in one place.

Current features: - Save complete AI chats - Highlight and save text snippets (e.g. code or key answers) - Tag saved snippets - Browse and search saved chats and snippets - Revisit full chats alongside the snippets saved from them

Current limitations: - Full-text search is available for snippets only (not full chats yet) - Tags apply to snippets only - Data is stored locally in your browser (no accounts or backend)

This is an early MVP, and I’m using it myself daily.

I’d really appreciate feedback on: - Would full-content search across saved chats change how you’d use this? - What would make this immediately more valuable? - Any privacy or UX concerns?

Chrome extension (currently unlisted while testing): https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/aichatlens-ai-memor...

Short demo video (apparently I say “perfect” more than I realized ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV8D_mIWd6c

Happy to answer questions or share technical details.
