Claiming someone explains capitalism "better than Marx" is a low bar. It is widely accepted that most of Marx’s central predictions did not materialize as he forecasted, not even during his lifetime. But the article "cherry-picks" Hume’s sociological insights while downplaying his own massive predictive failure (e.g. "Either the nation must destroy public credit, or public credit will destroy the nation").
