I built Tandem, an open-source desktop “AI coworker” that runs on Windows/Linux/macOS. I wanted this workflow on Windows/Linux too (a lot of similar tools are macOS-first).

How it works:

Plan Mode: the assistant proposes a task list → you review → batch execute

Artifacts: generates shareable HTML reports/dashboards as real files in your workspace

BYOK models/providers: OpenRouter / OpenAI / Anthropic / Ollama

Quick concrete example of the “Artifacts” bit (the part I’m most excited about): I can point Tandem at a folder (docs / logs / research notes) and ask for a single HTML dashboard/report—it writes the file into the workspace, and you can preview it in-app before sharing.

Under the hood it’s “Plan Mode” first (propose steps + files to touch), then execute only after approval.
