Ask HN: LLMs for new job categories?

7•aavci•2w ago
Now that LLMs have been mainstream for a few years, what new job categories have emerged or do you expect to emerge in the near future?

Comments

tariqshams•2w ago
I think whenever a new technology comes out, there will always be some new jobs to:

- build (LLM research engineers)

- integrate into existing systems (LLMOPS and AI engineers)

But I think besides those obvious ones, there will be lots of new combinations of LLMs and other technology that we won’t be able to predict, but in hindsight seem like it was destined to happen.

With the pace at which things have been moving since 2022, AI researcher is a popular I have seen steadily show up across job lists. Their main role is to research new AI models, fine tuning, orchestration techniques and adapt/adopt to existing infrastructure within a company.
ZuzuDuck•1w ago
I think being solo founder is much simpler, so many people try their best now. But im not sure if this will be long tendency, because creating working business is much more than vide coding an app.
aavci•1w ago
I expect QA and AI hand-holding roles to increase, but I don’t see that shift happening yet.
