The Case Against Humanity

1•codenighter•2h ago
You think you are a good person. You woke up today, perhaps kissed your partner, went to a job to provide for your family, and maybe you even held a door open for a stranger. You tell yourself that you are “civilized,” that you are part of a “developing” society, and that you possess “humanity.”

You are lying to yourself.

This blog argues that humans, as a species, function less like caretakers of the planet and more like a systemic disease, destroying ecosystems, exploiting other life forms, and rationalizing it as progress.

Well, by golly gee whiz. Do ya think so? This is all so embarrassingly obvious. Who's blog? Some 12 year old that got baked for the first time and had their first epiphany they're not the center of the universe their parents ad infinitum said them they were?

Welcome to reality, kid.

“Obvious” ideas still seem worth restating when society keeps behaving as if they aren’t. If you’ve moved past these questions, I’d be genuinely interested in what conclusions you reached instead.
