Project Idea: Carbon and Attentional Footprint of False Urgency

I was thinking about the total CO2 and heat produced, maybe even a bit more detailed like estimations about server, network, grid load as well as the attentional and cognitive footprint ... of "Last Chance E-Mail Marketing" and other pointless "dark pattern" marketing that uses simple psychological triggers like "urgency" and "once-in-a-lifetime/year/month/day/hour/ opportunity" ...

Y'all like to data science and blog, don't ya? Any ideas, suggestions for a noob like me?

Not really sure what you're thinking here, but anything one can do to expose data, and make it visible could be helpful. Many decisions aren't made simply because the right information is not available.
